Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: June 2025

Our commitment

The 7 Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people in our care. We believe every child has the right to be protected from harm and to participate in sport in a safe, positive environment.

DBS checks

All coaches, staff and volunteers who work with children at The 7 Academy hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. These are renewed in line with FA guidelines.

Qualified staff

All coaching staff hold relevant FA or UEFA qualifications. At least one first-aid qualified member of staff is present at every session. Our designated safeguarding lead holds the relevant safeguarding qualification.

Reporting a concern

If you have a concern about the welfare of a child, please speak to a member of staff immediately or contact us at enquiries@the7academy.co.uk. All concerns are taken seriously and handled in accordance with FA safeguarding procedures.

Photography and media

The 7 Academy operates a strict policy regarding photography and media at sessions. Only authorised staff may take photographs or video during sessions. Parents wishing to photograph their child must seek permission in advance.
