The Format
3-a-side
Fast, intense and technical. The 3v3 format maximises ball touches and decision-making — every player is always in the game.
Multiple matches
Every team plays a minimum of three games in the group stage. Top teams progress to knockout rounds.
All indoors
Held in The 7 Academy's purpose-built indoor facility — all-weather and all-year, so everyday weather is never a problem.
Tournament rules
Player-Led.
No Coaching.
These are player-led events — no coaching from the sidelines is permitted. Rules are subject to change on the day to allow for maximum fun and enjoyment.
Format
6 or 7 Team League
Top 4 teams progress to the Cup Semi Final & Final. Teams 5–7 compete in the Trophy Event.
U6 Events
Festival Format
All U6 events are treated as a festival — no semi finals or finals. Every player plays every game.
Goal difference rule
4-Goal Rule
If a team is losing by 4 or more goals, they may bring on a 4th player if one is available.
5-minute matches
Max squad of 5 players
2 outfield + 1 GK on the pitch at any time
GK can use hands in area only — rush GK allowed at any time
All players allowed inside the goal area
Overhead height allowed — no offsides
Roll on, roll off substitutions
Play to lines of pitch, not boards — 5-second restart limit (hand on and play)
Goals only scored in opponent's half
All free kicks are indirect
Size 3 balls for all ages
